Quotes:

Hispanic Executive:

"So you’re presented with two realities of the same location, one which notes where you actually are and then a limited window that gives you the possibility of seeing that same present tense in a different context. "

"Those static murals can be activated on one’s phone into these beautiful animations that slowly morph those gestures into others."

Wide Walls:

"The piece was lauded as an enactment of the physical vulnerability of women in a world where they are reduced to mere objects for looking at."

The name of this particular performance art video is "A Day in a Life. The idea of this video was to encapsulate the idea of the importance of mirrors within a persons life I believe that everyday a mirror is one of the first things we wake up to when we start our day whether it be hung up on a wall or our phones are used as a mirror to help preserve our image. To add on mirrors is one of the many ways that separate people from animals as most animals cannot comprehend the idea of their reflection only beings a mirror of themselves as us humans on a daily basis are are to process this idea and use it to our advantage. The purpose of this video is to not do the most outlandish thing you can do within a mirror but yet to showcase what the average person may do on a daily basis without even realizing it. The vintage style filter was used as a way to make the video seem more surreal and out of place in a way. Giving the feeling that we may spend too much time facing the mirror instead of facing reality. The foil grill in the beginning was used to symbolize the  using falsities to help bolster our status whether we use false jewelries to look more wealthier or use fake brands to look rich.

Furthermore,  this video was inspired by Shaun Leonardo and Yoko Ono. I loved the idea of Yoko Ono's cut piece being a places in a quiet and serene setting where the audience get to choose and interact  with her clothing. Similarly , I loved Shaun Leonardo, the invisible man performance where he is not fighting against the physical but something beyond. The clips for the video did not come out intended as I wanted to give off a more personal vibe and an atmosphere in which the viewer can go in their own mirror and act out their daily routines within the mirror as well as realizing the invisible causes that may bring one to the mirror. I think I failed somewhat , wanting to make a physical Ono poem through a visual mean , wanting the viewer to make out what they see in the mirror. Although feeling embarrassed I do believe I have accomplished the feel of the video.

The main goal of the video is to not only have people question the routine and purpose while looking into their mirrors but to reflect and dig deep into who they truly see in the mirror. Why would you look into the mirror everyday if you don't truly love yourself. Why would you spend so much time in the mirror if you are so confident? Why is your looks so important to one self and being ? After watching this video, would it make you think about or change the way you view or act in the mirror? These are questions I would want many of the viewers to ask as I want them to not only watch the piece but actually partake in the act and document their feelings or what not.
