For my final project, I want to create a photo painting image to where is showcases the image of a black man as represented in the media. This is not my project but a poster in the lobby of the Visual Arts building. To be Honest, I had a vision for my project but couldn't really get a clear image of how I want it to look. This image is a good representation on how I envisioned the image in my head, albeit Ill change it to my own vision and to my own liking. To add on I also want the image to be inspired by Kehinde Wiley as I love his colors and very jarring imagery of his black figures. I also want to see if Annotations can be adding as an aesthetical addition to my piece once I start and bring more insight to what I am trying to portray in my work.
In terms of producing the piece, I wanted to make the piece with my ma as a way of bonding as well as giving another layer to the idea of of black men and how they seen through the people's eyes. The plan is for me to take an image and place it within the center of a canvas board. From there the surroundings and borders will be painted with various colors. As of right now, I don't know if my mother and I will paint anything specific on the outside of the image but we do have the colors of blue, purple and magenta being ready to use. I only want a minimal amount of colors for this piece so that it can have a subtle message. I would not want to deter anyone away from the piee due to too much going on in the image.
